The Virginia Stockade - This ongoing effort for a local premium fire arms dealer showcases simple and tasteful use of Flash animation as well as audio. The client had very specific ideas about what the site needed to look like and a very tight schedule for the first phase of the site to go live. We were able to establish and configure web hosting, design, produce and publish a web presence for them in just a few weeks time. Currently, the site is in beta, with only a splash page available to the public. Click the image for a large view or here to visit the live site. You can also see a draft version here.

Awaken the Dawn - AwakenTheDawn.net is the website for the Emerging Generation Ministries of Grace Church of Fredericksburg, including the yearly Awaken the Dawn conference. This site was challenging to design, as there were very few parameters and no design ideas from the clients. The only input at the beginning was "high energy but not ugly". We used WordPress as a base for the installation, so that the client could manage their content without outside help. We then designed a custom theme and recoded parts of the WordPress template to provide some specialized features and content management. We also included the ability to easily embed audio and video. The result has met with overwhelming support from the client and visitors alike.

BrianAndPamela.com - A personal and (mostly unused) web log. Also built on WordPress, BrianAndPamela served as a test bed for several projects. Here it serves as an example of a site with a softer feel than the others. BrianAndPamela was the first installation of several WordPress mods which eventually made their way into other client sites such as Featured articles, multiple post loops, audio and video embedding and JavaScript animation libraries.

MESA - A sample of some of my web application development and design. MESA is the Monthly Employee Status Aggregator, a simple app that allows employees to enter the hours they have worked in a given month, assign those hours to various projects, and attach descriptions and deliverables. It also tracks travel charges for each project and employee. Reports can be generated by project, and form the basis for monthly status reports to each customer. The implementation of the application uses Ruby on Rails and was programmed by someone else. The functional design, requirements and other facets were performed by MCS personnel. The live site is on an internal network, unaccessible to the regular internet, but a full screen shot is here.
